Research by Ibope Nielsen Online reveals that 43% of internet users browse while simultaneously watching TV, with 51% doing this daily. TV viewing became a multitasking activity with audiences splitting attention between screens. Broadcasters needed to engage viewers while keeping their focus on content. KlugTV was created to bring interactivity to television programming and commercial breaks. Using second screen technology on tablets and smartphones, it extended content without interfering with the TV screen, allowing viewers to engage while continuing to watch their shows.

Wireframes were used to outline the core structure and interactions, defining the user journey and key functionalities. An MVP prototype was then developed to test real-time synchronization, interactive widgets, and broadcaster integration.
By combining wireframing with prototyping, the app’s usability was validated, feedback was gathered, and the interface was refined before moving into full development.

KlugTV redefined second-screen engagement, increasing viewer participation and unlocking new revenue streams for broadcasters.
The platform’s success validated second-screen as more than just an innovation. It anticipated the shift in behaviour across mobile experiences that would soon become the norm in media consumption.
However, after the app proved its value, broadcasters opted to develop their own similar technologies, ultimately leading to the project's conclusion. Even so, working on this project reinforced my belief in innovation’s ability to reshape user experiences, making interactions more engaging and meaningful. I’m proud to have been part of it.
